time question

Our ship (NCL Getaway) will be the last of four arriving in Cozumel the day we are there. Trying to decide if we should book Nachi Cocum. We have been there before and loved it.

The Getaway is in port from 11 am - 7 pm, Nachi will only let us stay until 5 pm. (I asked)

Will the ship time be the same as Cozumel time in January? How much time would we realistically have at Nachi?

Trying to decide if we should book it or find a different AI type of experience. Thank you!!! (We have been to Chankanaab and the Occidental too.)

Where are you sailing from and what time will the ship be on? Cozumel is on EST. So during non daylight savings time, Cozumel is the same as Easter Time. During Daylight Savings time, Cozumel is effectively the same as Central time. Quinata Roo (the state that Cozumel is in) is on Eastern Standard Time but does not recognize Daylight Savings Time.

So if we are sailing out of Miami in January, the ship's time and Cozumel's time will be the same, correct? Is it worth going to Nachi Cocum till 5:00 or should we find a place open till at least 6:00 pm? thanks

Yes, in January, Miami and Cozumel will be on the same time. What time is your ship in port. Not sure that the extra hour will really give you a lot. Probably by 4:00 or so, Nachi will slow down anyway.

Off the ship shortly after 11 will get you in the sand at Nachi by noon or just before. 5 hours of eating and drinking, sunning, swimming and relaxing should be plenty - close Nachi down, maybe grab a drink at one of the pier bars and then be back on the ship in time to watch the pier runners.

Or end up being one of the pier runners :)

You will have had ample time at Nachi! It will be time for you to get yourself back to the ship! :D

Great, thank you everyone. We did the pier running thing once…. and it was in Cozumel. Won't make that mistake again. It was our very first cruise….. Anyway… if we get there at noon do you think they will still likely have floating mats available? That is my favorite thing. :) Thanks.

It really doesn't matter where you go, you need to leave by around 5:00 anyway to allow enough time to get back to the ship without rushing like maniacs.
