Cabana on coco reservation grande suite question

Recommended Posts

We just booked a grand suite on our freedom may 31 cruise I was under the impression from a previous question I asked that with the suite I am able to reserve a family cabana before getting on the ship. We will have one deluxe ocean veranda and one grand suite. I called royal and they seemed confused about many thing but especially how I can book this option they said I had to do it when on ship one said at customer service one said in consierige lounge and one had no idea finally I thought I would ask here before calling again. Can this be booked before I get on the ship and if so how? Thank you so much for any help also sorry typing this on my iPad away from home.

The Concierge may contact you soon about your cruise, and one of the things you can ask the Concierge is to reserve a cabana for you. If you don't hear from the Concierge within a few days before the cruise, then I'd contact them at FR_Concierge@rccl.com.

Thank you it is so hard to get everything in order especially with being in one GS and one veranda since we where unable to get a 2nd GS with them being sold out now. I will check with the email if I do not hear from them soon since we leave in a few weeks.

It should not matter that your second stateroom is not a suite. You should be able to reserve one cabana, which will hold 6 people. The 6 people do not all have to be in a suite.

There is no "suite" area on Coco Cay.. Book when you board.

I believe you are mistaken - there certainly is a cabana area with special buffet - open to suite guests first - with own bar and rest rooms. Names checked at entrance.

Telling the OP to book on board is just bad advise. Cabana's are limited.

You are correct, suite guests have first crack at cabanas on Coco Cay. However, there is no area on Coco Cay that is restricted to suite guests, like Barefoot Beach at Labadee.

At Barefoot Beach at Labadee, a suite guest has access to a restricted beach, loungers, and an upgraded lunch buffet, without having to book a cabana. There is no equivalent to this at Coco Cay.

Maybe it was the impression I got - we rented a cabana at Coco 2X - both times we were given wrist bands and escorted to our cabana. While there is no need for a cabana attendant because the bar is only steps away - there was an upgraded buffet served just for the cabana people. It did not appear to me that non-cabana rental people were in that area. There is no direct access to the water from there so probably no need to be there if your not renting. However, I am positive the buffet we received was definitely upgraded compared to what others received just like at Barefoot. We did receive bottled water and were entitled to floaties if we wanted them - included. There are no loungers just sitting on the sand in this area.

The point I was trying to make is that you got the upgraded buffet because you purchased a cabana, which is the only way to get the upgraded buffet at Coco Cay.

At Labadee, any suite guest has access to the upgraded buffet, whether they have purchased a cabana or not.

Ah.... I see what you are saying - anyone can rent a Cabana - Suite guests get first crack - only ones who can enter the area are the people who rent :)

You got it.:)

My experience has been strictly for Labadee, but it may help you.. I get an email from the concierge about a week or two before sailing and then ask that a cabana be reserved for me. I know you may email your concierge before that time also and do the same. I do suggest that if the cabanas are numbered at your stop that you know which one you would like.. I have had total success doing it this way on Labadee..
