TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2015 So, I keep looking at these wonderful reviews with delicious food photos. So, I thought I'd try a really fast Carnival Conquest Steakhouse review. I'm Laurie (young-middle age) and I go on cruises with my close friend (roommate from college) and her son (my Godson). We've begun to eat at the Steakhouse on our first night because you get a free bottle of wine for the table on the first night. Since we aren't big drinkers we make white wine spritzers ☺️! Now without further ado, here we go!

TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 24, 2015 My shrimp cocktail was on my top 5 list of great shrimp cocktails. Second only to Pappadeux Seafood Restaurant!
TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted May 24, 2015 My friend LOVED her lobster bisque. She said there was a lot of lobster in it. But the four little tan items that you see is some sort of special crouton.
TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted May 24, 2015 Lastly, We both had the spiced rubbed ribeye steak. No matter what steakhouse we try, Conquest or Liberty, these steaks were exquisite!

TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted May 24, 2015 Actually, we ordered the humongous cheesecake. But neither one of us could bring ourselves to eat one bite after that great big meal. I didn't take a picture of every dish. Which is another reason why I said this would be really short. But I hope you enjoyed this little diversion. I know I love looking at everyone else's food pics. Have a wonderful, blessed day!
TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted May 24, 2015 Thank you for the review! How did you like the tomato soup? It was really good. That's what was so amazing. There wasn't a bad selection in the bunch.
mediccruzin Posted May 24, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 24, 2015 Going to have a book the steak house our next cruise. Have not had a chance to eat there on our other cruises. Mostly because my wife is does not care much for steak.
TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted May 24, 2015 They have more entrees than steak, believe it or not. Here's their menu. http://www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/explore/dining/menus/steakhouse-menu.ashx

auntylinda Posted May 24, 2015 #13 Share Posted May 24, 2015 Do you always get a bottle of wine on the first evening?
TravelLots Posted May 24, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted May 24, 2015 Do you always get a bottle of wine on the first evening? Yes, you always get a bottle of wine the first evening of the cruise. You can choose between a white or red. But you don't get a choice from their entire wine list, only what they give you. From what I've heard from other cruisers is that they are the cheaper bottles. But since we mix them with 7up to make a spritzer, we don't mind 😉
samoan_bulldozer Posted May 24, 2015 #15 Share Posted May 24, 2015 The free wine is your choice of a Chard or a Merlot. The real value is that the entire wine list is 50% off for the meal. So if your prefer a bottle of something different, this is the time to order it.

Rare pirate4me2 Posted May 25, 2015 #20 Share Posted May 25, 2015 We do the same thing on our cruises, eat at the Steakhouse the first night. We started on the Breeze and loved it, so that's one of our cruise traditions now! We love it.
TravelLots Posted May 25, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted May 25, 2015 I know, we love it, too! We have always enjoyed the MDR and still do. But this is becoming our tradition as well. It's just so nice. It's like eating at Ruth Chris or Morton's for $35!

rkacruiser Posted June 12, 2015 #25 Share Posted June 12, 2015 What's the dress code? And did you make reservations prior to boarding? Is smoking allowed? Thanks for the review! The dress code is the prevailing dress code for the evening. When it is casual elegant, that is perfectly acceptable. Some do choose to dress a bit nicer, however. No smoking. On Pride and Freedom, I have never made reservations before embarking. Plenty of reservations were available once on the ship.
