Why are so many communal loos often 'out of order'?

Recommended Posts

Just returned from a week on the Dream and it was noticeable that many of the ladies public loos often had a notice pinned on the door 'out of order'. Why does this happen so often?

Night after night it was quicker to pop down to your cabin than join a long queue.

On the last day, when everyone has to leave their cabin by 8am it was awful- long queues for the very few loos still useable.

I was so glad to get off.

yes there are always public loo dilemmas on dream (always have been always will be) especially on the last day

people shove stuff? down them.... dream pipes are very narrow

tip.... use the loos in the gym on deck 10, there are also showers, benches and lockers (and sometimes towels).... hardly ever anyone in there? (even on the last day);)

The mechanical bits are ancient and the public toilets are used a lot!

'mean time between failures' comes to mind.

A had a chat with a cremember fixing a toilet on Celebration and he told me they can't buy spares anymore so they make them in their workshop down in the bowels of the ship :D

Unfortunately many people can't or won't comply with requests and put things down the loo they aren't designed to cope with.

I am sure that is not the only issue, but am equally sure it is a big factor.
