moesyk4 Posted June 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2015 We will be there in September with my 66 year old MIL, my husband and I, and our 5 year old son. We've been in the Caribbean before in September so we know the heat is insane and so we know we want to be in or near water, although not necessarily just beach time. We've been to Junkanoo before. We are also planning to do a "splurge" excursion at another stop and so want to keep it cheap, under $40 per person. We will be in port from noon to 7. Any ideas? taffy12 Posted June 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2015 It's not on the water, but if you want to escape the heat for a bit, the pirate museum is very cool (literally and figuratively!). I highly recommend it.
pcvtmom Posted June 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2015 A day pass at British Colonial Hilton might be the ticket! It's within walking distance, is $40 pp and includes food and drink vouchers. There's a lovely pool area as well as beachfront. We've spent nice, relaxing days there on several cruises that stopped at Nassau.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted June 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2015 I think the British Colonial Hilton is $60 but it includes a $40 voucher for food. Melia is $35 (no food or drinks included).
pcvtmom Posted June 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Oops! It's gone up significantly since we were last there! Still worth it with $40 toward food and drinks, though.

mjkacmom Posted April 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2017 Melia is nicer than the Hilton, and you can take the jitney for around $1.50 pp.
cruiseapril Posted April 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2017 The Melia has several refreshing pools.
