navybaby Posted September 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2005 I received the wonderful news myself on the 14th :D Since I live overseas, my TA went ahead and mailed them out to me on the same day, so anytime now I will have my hands on 'my precious' (for all of you LOTR fans haha!)
beachlovergirl Posted September 17, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Iamthesea - I'm so happy for you! And since I'm the next cruise after yours on the Coral that means I should be getting my docs soon !! :D Dee
LARGIN Posted September 17, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Have fun.. I am sure you will have a great time. The Coral is my favorite ship..
Iamthesea Posted September 19, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted September 19, 2005 My DOCS just arrived and everything seems to be in order. One minor mistake - my address number is one off, should I be concerned? What does the "A" mean at the end of my luggage tags? They are red. beachlovergirl Posted September 19, 2005 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2005 Iamthesea - I got my tickets in the mail today for our Coral cruise on 10/25 so I'm doing the doc dance too! :D The red luggage tags with "A" on them mean gangway A.......just for the baggage handlers so they know which gangway your luggage is going on. We also got red luggage tags with an A. Our cabin is D606, what's your cabin number? I wouldn't worry about your address being off by a number. I think Princess is more concerned with your name on your docs matching your passport or other ID exactly. I would still call your TA or Princess directly to see what they say. Iamthesea Posted September 20, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted September 20, 2005 D714 and D716. I noticed the address being wrong on the PC a long time and changed it myself, but the docs still came wrong. The directions say to cross it out and put in the new information...that's what I did. Glad you have yours! :D
dchip Posted September 20, 2005 #11 Share Posted September 20, 2005 Hello Iamthesea We are in D712 and D714 for on the 5/3/06 Panama Canal sailing. Can't wait until you get back to hear about your trip and the rooms. Would you please measure the balcony??? On the Regal (which I love) the balcony was so narrow we had to turn our chair sideways :) Congrats on getting your docs!!!!!

dchip Posted September 20, 2005 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2005 Wow, Iamthesea, waiting for photos is almost as exciting as going!!!! Thanks so much for saving the thread and posting the pics. I have looked at several shots but it is so hard to tell what the balconies really look like. Oh and nobody ever takes a picture of the bathroom space. Can you tell I am a photographer??? Thanks again, Denise

Iamthesea Posted October 29, 2005 Author #18 Share Posted October 29, 2005 Sorry about this next balcony picture. I didn't realize that my zoom was on and it doesn't look quite as big as it really was. It was not huge though and there was no room for a lounge chair. not very private either. The plastic chairs were terribly uncomfortable. it didn't really matter as we used the balcony very little because it was so noisy out there. One day, I was trying to read and heard a lady coughing constantly, a TV blaring, a radio, several conversations, chairs and tables being moved around and the worse was the passenger that was cutting their finger and toe nails. I thought I was on a NY City apartment balcony! The only thing missing was the horn honking. We have never had that experience before with balconies. I gave up and went inside to read. The best place to read is the solarium. dchip Posted October 29, 2005 #19 Share Posted October 29, 2005 Hi Iamthesea, I have been thinking about you for your whole trip. I posted in the Coral in Miami thread hoping you would see it. Wow, what an ending hey. Can't wait to read your review. The room looks good, the balcony experience not so nice. 7 x 8 is fabulous. We have only had balconies on the Regal and the Sea Princess and they are about 2 x 8....if that. I had to turn the chair sideways to sit down ;-))))) Welcome home and thanks again, Denise
Iamthesea Posted October 30, 2005 Author #20 Share Posted October 30, 2005 You are welcome! :) I will tell you that the stateroom was fine, although a little too narrow for us. The decor was really pretty. The biggest disappointment (or should I say inconvenience) was the closet, storage and bath areas. The bathroom door opened out to the narrow hallway that housed the closet and storage shelves, My DH and I had several run-ins where one of us would be trying to escape the steamy and too small bath, and would open the door on the other. It was especially hard if someone was trying to get into the safe (which had a broken hinge BTW.) I know it sounds like we hated the cruise, but we did have a wonderful time. ;) We were just disappointed in a lot that Princess didn't offer versus what we are use to. The positives were the great staff, the best entertainment, a beautiful relaxing bar (Wheelhouse) with live music, good specialty restaurants, the solarium, plenty of pool chairs, fairly good dining food (the Horizon stunk ...the grill was great!) and beautiful dining rooms. I will probably not write a review, but will continue to post and answer questions for a while.
Iamthesea Posted October 30, 2005 Author #21 Share Posted October 30, 2005 I forgot to add a good paying casino and a very nice CD, JJ H something. PS - If anyone has questions, I will be glad to answer.
dchip Posted October 30, 2005 #22 Share Posted October 30, 2005 Thanks again for your info...DH loved the casino post :) We did the bathroom ballet on the Regal, got trapped nearby the safe several times. We are prepared!! Never eat in the Horizon. We just love going to the dining room, being seated, meeting new people, not having to juggle food. We met some great friends that way on our last cruise that we see regularly here at home. How was the pizza?? Did you eat at Sabatini's?? If so how was it?? Off to Napa Valley for the day, check back later. Thanks again, Denise
Iamthesea Posted October 30, 2005 Author #23 Share Posted October 30, 2005 The first hot bite of the pizza was good, then as it cooled, it was not so good. The crust was like cardboard. As I said, the hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken sandwiches were all pretty good. Great FF! We did eat in the Bayou and Sabatini's. I really enjoyed the Bayou better because we could order what we wanted (steak.) Sabatini's had way too much food and took too long, but it was a very nice experience.
