How to get from airport to hotel in San Juan

My husband and I are flying into San Juan, Puerto Rico, then spending the night at the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel right by the docks where we will board our ship the next day. Does anyone know how far the hotel and docks are from the airport? Also, is there a shuttle service back and forth from the airport to the hotel?

 

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed trying to figure all this out! :eek:

No shuttles in San Juan..someone said it's due to a very active transport union. Just take a taxi...plenty at the airport and most speak enough English to get along with the mainland visitors.

$20-25 taxi ride as I recall...

Hopefully you'll get in early enough to do a little exploring. There are some very fine restaurants just a few blocks from that hotel.

No reason to be overwhelmed. :)

 

San Juan airport is very easy to exit and get around. Taxi rates are by zone and an additional $1 per piece of luggage. Very inexpensive. About a 20 min ride.

We have always used a taxi -- plenty of them.

old San Juan is great. Just up the hill a few blocks from the Sheraton.

When you exit the airport, there is a line for taxis. Even if the line is long, it moves fairly quickly.
