We are booked grand scenic on sunshine June 2016. It is a quad and were only aloud to book with 4 people... Room 9111. Apparently there are only 4 of the rooms on the boat.

There are two grand scenic rooms. On the corners. Then 4 scenic rooms between the 2 grand scenics.

Is there a place outside the cabin to sit?

No. There is a catwalk outside that is used for maintenence. You can't access it.

That's so odd that I was able to book the Grand Scenic OV with only 2 people. It showed as available online when I did my mock booking for 2 people and when I called in they let me, with no mention of it being for 4 only.

this is Cabin 9126 on the Sunshine. We really enjoyed this cabin. Although it is assigned for 4, it was just me and my DH. The difference in the Valor and Sunshine SGOV, is the small window. DH would lay his towel on the chaise and just stare out of that window. It was soo tranquil. I wish I could get that cabin for next cruise, but not possible. You will love it.

Thank you for the photo. The room looks smaller than the Valor Grand Scenic OV with less space in the room.

I think because of the chaise by the window, and I had the table and chair kind of positioned out. I used that table and chair as a desk. I think they are the same size, but more furniture in the Sunshine. The Valor 2 person cabin is in my signature. We had the Valor first, but liked the Sunshine better. Both were super nice.

Thats odd also. I have never seen the GSOV online. I have always had to call to see if we could get one.

Did you do the mock booking on Carnival?

On some TA websites, you can see the GSOVs. But never on Carnival's site. Ever. The regular scenics you can see, but not the bigger two. Even if they are available. OP did you see it open on another website?

Yes, I was on carnival.com. I was able to get all the way through the booking, to where you would add payment, and then I called customer service. They had me click completely out of the booking and hold for a moment then were able to switch my room for me

No, I was most definitely on carnival.com. I go through a mock booking once a day and also check for FTTF. It was about 10am on Friday

This is really wierd! Maybe it was a fluke?? I was checking for an oversized after ocean view, like I was doing daily, and saw that a Scenic Ocean View category was showing, and it said plus $17.30 per person per day, so I went all the way through the booking and it was 9126, only one avail.

I just double checked my cabin confirmation to make sure I am not crazy. It is definitely room 9126, category 6k

My husband and I were 2 in that same cabin. I found out here on CC that it was a quad cabin, and calles CCL. The rep said it was a chance We would be moved to a balcony, which was the next highest category, but that it was unlikely. So we kept the cabin, hoping for the best. We were not moved.

I just found out a I the grand scenic oceanviews today and my husband booked Glory stateroom 9201 thinking this was a grand scenic stateroom. Depending on which website you are on, the 9201 and 9203 are switched on the deck plan. Can anyone confirm if 9201 (on the glory) has the gorgeous floor to ceiling windows and is, in fact, the grand scenic stateroom?

Thanks Cruise Critic members!

As the other poster stated, 9201 on the Glory is a GSOV and is for 2 people. The chaise does not fold into a bed (the GSOVs for 4 have a convertible chaise, I believe). We had 9201 on the Glory on our last Carnival cruise: Here are a couple of photos:

Enjoy! We loved that cabin and only wish the Breeze had them, too.

I had a Grand Scenic OV booked for the Valor next year, but I was just notified that the Valor will be doing another sailing and the Magic is taking it's place, so I lost my cabin. I'm disappointed, but by the looks of it, I'm more excited about the Magic for my trip. Enjoy!!

I've been on Valor (2013) and while it is a nice ship, I'm betting you will like Magic and it's upgrades much better!!!

That's what I thought. I've been on the Conquest and Liberty and I knew Valor was very similar. So although, I'm disappointed I lost the cabin, I think overall it's a better ship

This is my cabin on the Glory in October - so excited! DH only knows I booked an Oceanview room...keeping it a secret is difficult!

We lost our 6k reservation too for the Valor next year. Quite bummed, but we the Magic will be nice.

Not true. We booked cabin 9107 on the Sunshine. I continued to do mock bookings and see if by some chance we would get price drop. One day cabin 9126 opened up and was available. I think the confusion when booking on Carnival's website is these categories are almost always not included in promotional fares. If you search by early saver or past guest they show up.

OP, these rooms are fantastic! You don't have to close the shades at night as you may read on older posts. The room never gets hot. The window is tinted and no one can see in from the outside either. Also, these rooms include a mini fridge.

We decided to stay in 9107 because 9126 had a double sofa bed and no upper bunk. Our kiddos need their own beds.

Here's our view of Grand Turk last month!

I am SO glad to hear this!!! I love that the windows never have to be closed unless you want darkness. I had read that it's required to have them closed at night bc of safety concerns?? Is that just a thing of the past??
