jormot Posted June 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2015 How much time is needed to explore the port area (shopping etc) in Juneau? We are looking at taking two excursions while there but that only leaves about an hour to an hour & a half to explore the port itself. Is that enough time? We are not big shoppers but want to find a few souvenirs and stuff.
Langley Cruisers Posted June 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2015 ...that only leaves about an hour to an hour & a half to explore the port itself... Personally, I think that's absolutely adequate. :)

jormot Posted June 20, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted June 20, 2015 We are technically docked from 1pm-10pm but are doing the small boat Tracy Arm excursion which gets us back at 3:3pm. Than at 5:30pm we want to do the Taku Glacier & Lodge float plane excursion which includes dinner. So, we are not worried about eating while in port and not really looking for anything in particular. Like I said, souvenirs which would be like a t-shirt or Christmas ornament. Nothing in particular.
NYCruiseNoob Posted June 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2015 We just got back from a northbound trip and were in Juneau from 6:30AM to 8:30PM. There is a large souvenir/gift shop right by the dock which would be plenty. There is not a lot to see outside the port.

ricruzer Posted June 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2015 you should have enough time, but if you do not,in Ketchican they have many shops right next to the docks and many of the stores with souvenirs are the same ones, especially tee shirts and alaska knick knacks!
