I heard the Crown Princess will have an atrium kind of like RCI's prominade. Anyone know anything about this, I love the idea, I was just on the Voyager in June & thought it was amazing. I'm hoping the Crown holds up to her, but since she is new I'm sure it will be awsome!! Also I saw a picture of a casino with a dome sky light, I thought it was for the Crown?

I don't think what you read meant an atrium like the Promenade on the Voyager class ships. It will still be the same size and shape as the other Grand class ships. I think the person who stated that it would be like the Promenade on the Voyager meant it in a durogatory way. I think that Princess is trying to give it an Italian flare and make it like a piazza like you would find in most small Italian cities and towns. I meeting place with cafes and tables where one could meet for a drink or some light fare. I like the idea overall and don't think it will be bad or like the mall in the Voyager ships that some people don't like.

Thanks for the reply. I think it sounds great, I like the idea of sitting in outside cafe's for a drink or a small bite & have an open feeling with lot's going on around you!

Does anyone mind telling me where they booked their cruise? The price my travel agent quoted me for July 2006 seems really high?

I booked through an Internet travel agency, I called several TA's, Princess and checked into many different online options. I finally found the best deal and paid 5900.00 for 3 people in a mini-suite. Savings between $500.00 and $1000.00 depending on which quote I was given. Found Princess to be the highest. Although they don't serve drinks or nibbles on the "sidewalk" outside of Bayou Cafe on Coral/Island, the theming spills out onto the corridors and it's a nice spot. I got the impression that the atrium area on Crown would be similar with the addition of some limited waiter/bar service.
