Paris Seine River Sightseeing

This is a matter of personal preference. Many folks (including moi) prefer to enjoy dinner at various Parisian restaurants and simply take a river sightseeing cruise if and when we have the urge. Most of the boats do exactly the same think in that they cruise slowly up and down the river, provide a narrative of what you are seeing (including bridges, buildings, and some history), etc etc.

If you do want a dinner cruise you might want to pay a little more to get some decent food. We particularly like Calife (http://www.calife.com/english/index.html) but I am sure you will have other posters with a different opinion.

Hank,

Thanks for your comments and the link. Calife does look nice.

We did the dinner cruise on Bateaux Mouches and enjoyed it. It's not great, but it's good. I think it's 99 euros, but that includes champagne and a bottle of wine and all courses including appetizer, dinner, cheese, and dessert. There is music and the views are great. Sure you can find better restaurants, but it's a unique experience and I'm glad we did it. If you want something cheaper, there are regular boats that go up and down the Seine, but they are not as relaxing and you will never feel crowded. I suppose the risk in doing a non-dinner cruise is that they overpack them and you may not get a direct view if you don't get an end seat. All tables on the dinner cruise have the great views.

We tried something similar in Amsterdam which cost more and was nowhere near as good as the Bateaux Mouches dinner experience.
