Book next cruise while onboard?

The offer on the Sky back in May was, IIRC, $100 OBC for making a $500 deposit with 4 years to use it. You did not need to specify ship, sailing date or cabin category at the time.

The was a consultant on board to help you.

The benefit is that you basically get a future cruise deposit for $150. That is all you will need to deposit on your cruise when you book.

You will pay $250 onboard, but then you receive $100 OBC on your current cruise. Then you will $250 toward your deposit when you book your next cruise. Therefore, you spend $150 today to get $250 in the future. 😊

We do it every cruise.

I stand corrected. I couldn't remember if it was $250 or $500. I just wish I had done it. I could have used the $100 to reduce my bar bill.

That's some great advice. We are about to cruise with NCL for the first time this August so this info is much appreciated.

We booked a cruise while on board once and most likely won't do it again (another cruise line). When there was a price drop they wanted to take our OBC when giving us the lower price. Had to fight hard to keep the OBC.

Yes, some lines "re-price" when there's a price drop & I think NCL may be one of them. I don't have a problem with that. I appreciate the fact that I can take advantage of lower prices & upgrades but they have the right to set the rules. If I don't like them, that's my problem, not theirs..........

Just off the Jewel and there are absolutely no perks to booking another cruise onboard. You do not get any additional credit. The only "perk" is when you buy the future cruise credits. Its $100 back for $250 and I think $250 for $500

What is Next Ultimate? In the thread I (tried) to attach above, if you book while onboard, you qualify for extra perks. Perhaps they are the "current" promotions and offer no advantage.

Anyone had any experience yet?

I asked the same question when I saw that. Seems like we should get 2 choices if we book while onboard. I'll find out in a couple of weeks............

Those are very nice incentives indeed.

They are but the question is........... With the existing promotion, I can book today & get a "Freestyle Choice". If I book onboard, I'll get OBC & my choice of one of the things. So, do I get two choices & the OBC making it worth waiting to book onboard or do I only gain OBC & possibly lose the cabin I want by waiting?

If you don't get anything extra, then booking a cruise while onboard is a waste of vacation time. It's good when there's no comparable promotion on but it's not very good right now.

Depending on dates, timing and how enamored you are of a particular cabin or cabin type, you can always reserve now, then when on board check for availability of comparable cabin on the same sailing. If there one you would like to travel in, you can book, then cancel the old one. Again, make sure you are well outside cancellation penalty dates. We did something like that with DCL and it worked out for us because while on board they did not have any of the rooms we wanted, so we kept our old reservation and made a new one for a different cruise while on board to lock-in 10% off.

Waiting isn't a problem. There's plenty of time & cabins & I like the idea of the lower down payment.

So what's your question then? I thought that was what you were hesitant about.

I want to know if we will get 2 Ultimates. One based on the current promotion & another as part of the benefits for booking a cruise while on a cruise.

No, the promos do not stack or combine. I believe the only way to get more than one is booking a Haven room.

Thank you! I was hoping but it's still worth waiting. We'll still get a lower down payment plus the OBC.
