Charging on the Islands

Check with Discover (phone # on back) -- it's accepted more widely than in the past. It is now part of the Barclay system & is accepted (at least in the UK) everywhere Barclay is accepted.

Since Bermuda is part of the commonwealth, Barclay Bank may be there too.

Personally, I'd rather carry/use a credit card that limits my liability if lost or stolen than carry a lot of cash -- on vacation or at home.

But.... Just about every place in the Caribbean will accept US$ (cash) !

I was referring to CC fees for exchange rates, but I use my CC everywhere I can in the US and out of the US. My free stays in Kauai and Santa Fe last year courtesy of my Starwood card are due to using cash as little as possible.
