wordsjustfly Posted July 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Whew - That's all I can say! And a big huge shout out and thanks to the on shore concierge crew (department) at NCL. :D:D I am planning a cruise for our family of seven - and while we are going to have tons and tons of fun the pre-planning stuff is time consuming. It can also be mind boggling. Today the concierge folks helped me walk through the needs and preferences of all seven of us -- reserved our shows as well as made our dinner reservations. That in itself was a challenge. They also tied up a few loose ends and discovered some other stuff that could have been potentially a pain in the neck and "fixed" them! I am just so thankful and again "whew" Now this cruise director can actually vacation on her own vacation:););)

wordsjustfly Posted July 14, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 14, 2015 I am just really excited -- the "parents" don't know we upgraded our family to the Haven. The look on their faces is going to be priceless and worth all of it. Just wondering a creative way to tell them when we arrive at the pier. ;) My only concern is I hope my mother in law doesn't have to stand an awfully long time because she has a hip and leg issue and if she stands too long and is in a lot of pain. Sauer-kraut Posted July 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2015 If you're in the suites then you should have a separate waiting room with snacks and drinks waiting for you, chairs should also be there! Have a great time :D

This is how I am springing the surprise on the family. I used old scroll type paper and I will use a wax seal. I planned and planned, for two years straight, I really wanted, It to be great. Lots of fights, back and forth, But that’s ok, were on our way, To King’s Wharf. A surprise I had, I wanted to keep, No, we are not, in a mini-suite. The Haven is all, that they say, And it’s all ours, for seven glorious days. As much as I wanted, It to be, Alas, it wasn’t, our entire family. Pete is with us, around mom’s neck, But I am sure he’ll enjoy, our huge AFT deck. Dinner and drinks, are all on me, It’s the least I can do, for my loving family. With a little help, from CAS This trip is going, to be the best. I took the kids, who got to see, A preview of, what was going to be. Sean picked his bed, in the suite, Your gonna have problems, He thinks he’s elite. And he didn’t care, It was only a love seat. Sean only had, one thing in mind, Calling the butler, when it was lunchtime. A good luck chip, To get you both started, Though you can only use it, After we’ve departed. In case you think, That I am lost, Try the casino, I’m trying to make up What this all cost. Do it again, Yes we will, But next time brother, Throw more in the till. If when at Christmas, It’s not the norm, Gifts galore, Oh I am torn, Remember this gift, For all your days, Even if most of the trip, You’re in a drunken haze. Jenjer Posted July 14, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Very cute poem. What a wonderful way to start out your cruise. I am also surprising my DH and kids with a upgrade from a mini to a 2 bed on Escape. I am going to tell DH but not kids. Just direct them over to check in and wait for them to figure it out. We have never cruised in suite before. When we talk about Escape I just don't talk about our room. When they ask I tell them its the same as Getaway just different colors.
