tinsoldier Posted July 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2015 Hi - does anyone know if we can expect to have a bottle opener and a corkscrew in our standard balcony cabin on Ventura? Not that we're planning to bring loads of booze on board but we will be bringing a bottle or two of very special (sentimental) beer and a bottle or two of wine? Thanks
jaceyar Posted July 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2015 Not sure, we always take our own - part of standard holiday kit.

davecttr Posted July 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2015 I have a sneaking feeling that there is a bottle opener as part of the bathroom furniture :confused::confused: not a very hygenic place i thought or it might have some other use :o :)
LondonTowner Posted July 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2015 We had this problem recently on Oriana as other cruises we have done have had one. My partner managed to open the bottle somehow. Best to take one.
Morgans Posted July 24, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2015 We bought one from the ships shop as we had forgotten ours. £1.
rickpo Posted July 24, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Done a few cruises with Fred Olsen, they always had a bottle opener in the shower/toilet area. No good for bottles of wine though, just the sort that prises off the caps. The thing is that Fred Olsen does not allow you to take bottles on board, whether you can buy bottles of beer on board to drink in the cabin I don't know. They don't have a lot of balcony cabins so drinking in an enclosed cabin didn't really appeal. Don't mind drinking in an enclosed bar though. Rick.
