Adventure's dry dock is Oct 16, 2016 to Nov 19, 2016. She will probably get the same treatment as Explorer, new staterooms, flowrider, new restaurants. cocacola86 Posted July 26, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 26, 2015 So we get back the 17th, how far before we dock do they start renovating, do they give you anything for the inconvenience?
Clarea Posted July 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2015 So we get back the 17th, how far before we dock do they start renovating, do they give you anything for the inconvenience? I believe your cruise disembarks on the 16th. You may see some prep, possibly some areas (like the nightclub) that are off limits. I don't recall anyone reporting that they got compensation for being on the last cruise before dry dock.

cocacola86 Posted July 26, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted July 26, 2015 Your right, just wondering if you've been on a cruise that was about to go under drydock and how was it? And did it ruin your cruise and do you know what restaurants they're adding?
Clarea Posted July 26, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 26, 2015 ...do you know what restaurants they're adding? I don't know for sure about the restaurants, but if they do what they did to Explorer, they will add Izumi and Chops.

OfTheSeasCruiser Posted August 13, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 13, 2015 I don't know for sure about the restaurants, but if they do what they did to Explorer, they will add Izumi and Chops. They might add Sabor, as they did on Navigator.
Clarea Posted August 14, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Does anybody now if they are going to put a Boardwalk hotdog house on the Adventure of the Seas when it goes in drydock Of the Voyager class ships, only Mariner got a dog house. None of the recent dry docks of Voyager class ships have added a dog house.

curcurt Posted December 19, 2015 #15 Share Posted December 19, 2015 Is there an official list or link from Royal Caribbean on what ships will be refurbished in 2016? Another web site, Royal Caribbean Blog, did not listed it for refurbishment in 2016. Is everyone just using the dates that the ship can't be booked as the possible refurbishment time frame? 71Corvette Posted December 19, 2015 #17 Share Posted December 19, 2015 I noticed that as well. Hoping the refurbishment is still scheduled as originally advertised. We're onboard in February 2017 and are looking forward to a newly refurbished ship. RCI's website linked above hasn't been updated in a while. It's entirely possible something may have changed. There's still a 3 week gap in the sailing schedule for AOS though.
Coralc Posted December 19, 2015 #18 Share Posted December 19, 2015 Your right, just wondering if you've been on a cruise that was about to go under drydock and how was it? And did it ruin your cruise and do you know what restaurants they're adding? It's not horrible, but it's not great either. We were on Brilliance right before a drydock and about 3 days before the end of the cruise, they ripped all the carpeting out of the Schooner bar. (which is a much larger area and major walkway on the Radiance class). It was rolled up along the entry, and the lingering dust was horrible. We all came back with terrible colds and coughs. It wasn't just because of that, but all the junk in the air certainly didn't help. They were also dismantling some things the last few days. Pencruise Posted December 19, 2015 #19 Share Posted December 19, 2015 We have an 8 day cruise We are on the same cruise as you, didn't realize it was the last cruise before dry-dock, but am sure all be fine anyway.
chengkp75 Posted December 19, 2015 #20 Share Posted December 19, 2015 The amount of work done during the last cruise will depend on the length of the shipyard period, the length of transit time from disembarkation port to yard, the amount of work planned during the shipyard, and most importantly, the number of cabins they were able to remove from inventory for the contractors. The lack of clear information is not a very good business practice.
