Mendenhall vs. Tracy Arm

Hello!! We are headed to Alaska in about a month. Budget-wise, we are looking for only one of the pricier excursions. The two we are looking at are both through Carnival. Would you recommend Tracy Arm or Mendenhall?

Hands down, Tracy Arm.

 

Mendenhall you can do easily by getting a shuttle over there and do it yourself. Tracy Arm you have to do the excursion to get close. We did it last week and it was fabulous.

Thanks for the quick reply. The Mendenhall one had a "wildlife tour" as well, but it seemed like any of those excursions are inherently a wildlife tour.

Being you are claiming "pricey" I'll speculate you may be looking at a flight?

 

What do YOU want to do? And why were these choices chosen?

 

Posting the actual "Mendenhall" tour is vital, and it isn't enough to just write down the Carnival name- copy and post enough so it is known what tour it is.

Mendenhall is but a few bucks on the bus, well worth it and the hike around to the falls weather permitting.

 

If you are talking about the add on smaller boat, it's a different experience. You get much closer and a different vantage point from the boat. If you are also getting Glacier and tight on the budget, worth considering skipping.. other's may disagree but the views from the boat are pretty nice too and don't cost one cent extra :D
