Isklaar Posted August 6, 2015 #26 Share Posted August 6, 2015 My recent experience only a couple of months ago is the same as Nigella wrote. The complimentary bag as a SB club benefit is 2 day service as it is the pay$50 option. To receive laundry quicker do it on an item by item basis. I also believe that it used to be faster turnaround than that, as did another poster see thread at post 37 onwards :- http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2185922&highlight=laundry&page=
markham Posted August 6, 2015 #27 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Isklaar, I think we are in agreement. I did not use the $50 bag service which apparently takes 2 days. The regular service I used is next day. (There is also the same day surcharge service that I do not use.) The reason I do not use the $50 bag service is we get complimentary laundry and pressing as a Seabourn Diamond benefit. Happy sailing!
Nigella Posted August 6, 2015 #28 Share Posted August 6, 2015 I wonder if it had something to do with the extra workload on the ship and crew on changeover day. Bed linen all stripped (mid cruise I suspect they stagger suites), extra cleaning of suites and handover to new guests, learning guests preferences / timings etc. All it would have taken was a slight delay in delivering back day 2 evening for it to slip into day 3. Also when day 1 is changeover day you can effectively write it off as many staff are tasked with unusual duties both guest related and safety related. Henry :) Henry, this could very well explain it. I know I was suprised because it wasn't as quick as it had been previously, but previously I think I only used the service mid cruise. So it seems they prioritised the laundry I was paying for separately over the bag. Good thinking, I thought I was going mad!
wripro Posted August 6, 2015 #29 Share Posted August 6, 2015 I was on the last Spirit crossing (and last cruise period) and I got my laundry bag back the next day three times.
Winner Posted August 6, 2015 #30 Share Posted August 6, 2015 That was over a year ago, Henry. I am sure Seabourn misses you!
Chairsin Posted August 7, 2015 #31 Share Posted August 7, 2015 Actually the Spirit's last crossing was in March of this year.
SKP946 Posted August 7, 2015 #32 Share Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) We are just home from 3 weeks on Quest in Norway and the Baltic, our weekly laundry bag (Platinum), if out by 10 am was always back the next afternoon around 2pm, about 28 hours later. However on Quest last December in Antarctica it was a day longer i.e. around a 52 hour turnaround. Edited August 7, 2015 by SKP946

Chairsin Posted August 7, 2015 #34 Share Posted August 7, 2015 Wiinnie, haha hardly! Maybe it just seems like a year ago. Only three months off the final Legend cruise and I I feel as if it was 30! Oh how I miss the little sisters!
