I will be on the Jewel for the April TA. I have never sailed with John Blair before and would appreciate any comments about him.

 

It is a 15 day cruise so the CD and how he handles himself and the activities staff is very important

We sailed with the Blairs on a longer cruise about 2 years ago, they are ok, they seem to be everywhere on the ship which was a nice thing, we went to his 'Neil Diamond' show, had not seen it before so it was entertaining. They were certainly ok, we've had much, much worse CD's.

We had the Blairs on Jewel last May. I found him a bit "slick" in a game show host sort of way. Once I got used to that, he was fine--very professional and talented just perhaps not as down to earth as I prefer. He and his wife did put on the best farewell show I have attended. It really felt like a celebration.

We were on JW B2B for Christmas and New Year's. John and Katrina and their entire staff worked their butts off to show us the best Holiday Season we ever had on a cruise. And we've spent many holidays at sea.

I could have sworn that Abe Hughes said he would be on board through at least July when we were just on Anthem. He only started back a few weeks ago... Aren't they typically 7 month contracts?

Typically it's a 4 month contract followed by a 2 month break for the regular CD of the ship, and a 2 month contract for the person covering the regular CD's break. As far as I know, Abe has not been announced as the regular CD of Allure and he is just doing a fill-in. Those March end-dates were provided by Abe himself.

 

Dru Pavlov is expected to be coming to Allure for a few regular contracts when he returns from his break.

 

Maybe Abe said he would be returning in July to cover again? (That would be the time Dru or whoever is assigned as Anthem's CD in March would be due to take a break)

Marc Walker reports to drydock May 3 and will take out the ship from Port Canaveral beginning May 16. He has no end date yet, but he plans to retire shortly thereafter, after 20 years of service, to spend more time with his family

 

Mariner OTS - Fang Lixin started October 29 (until when? then who?) Jamie Fentiman is having surgery, and his return date is delayed

Thanks! I thought Paul was the regular CD of GR, but someone posted the info about Rich a few pages back, so I went with that.

 

Paul was scheduled to take his break on Jan 24 (but the ship was delayed due to the storm until Jan 25).

 

Can anyone confirm that Paul is still onboard? When does his break start? Who is covering?

Grandeur: What is the CD situation? Paul was scheduled for break last weekend - is he still there? When is he leaving, and to whom is he handing over CD duties?

 

Adventure: What date in March is Mercedes scheduled to leave for break, and who will be the next CD?

 

Allure: What date in March is Luke scheduled to leave for break, and who will be the next CD?

 

Anthem: What date in March is Abe scheduled to leave for break, and is Dru the next CD or someone else?

 

Brilliance: What date in March is Tim scheduled to leave for break, and who will be the next CD?

 

Freedom: Is John on a 2 month contract or a 4 month contract? Is he the new regular CD of Freedom? Is Casey expected to return at the end of March, or has he been reassigned?
