Platinum and Gold in Same Cabin

I will become Platinum on my next Cruise (10/31/2015) and, according to Carnival's website you get the VIFP level that you are advancing to for the entire cruise if it happens in the middle of the cruise. So I am going from Gold to Platinum but will be Platinum from the start.

 

My question is about traveling with a Gold level person. Since Platinum members get priority board can we both board together even though they are Gold? Does anyone have first hand experience with this issue?

If you are under the same booking #, my experience has been that you will both board under the Platinum.

If you are in the same cabin and print your boarding pass together your gold member will be able to board with you.

Yes, you will board together. I did this two weeks ago with my blue card granddaughter. As long as the same cabin, no problem. Enjoy.

My mom and I have done this a few times (I'm platinum; she's gold). We print the all-in-one boarding pass and check in together in the platinum lounge/line--they always have both our cards waiting.

If you accumulate enough points to change VIFP levels mid cruise you will begin the cruise at the higher level. Not certain how the number of cruises would change that.

This happened to us in San Juan, I hit Platinum, other person did not. We check in together, board together etc. In ports where you tender they can go with you.

That was before the levels changed to number of days. Now if you have 75 days you don't have to have 10 cruises.

Only if you had 10 cruises by Dec 31 2013, otherwise you need 75 cruise nights to hit Platinum now.

No-the gifts and party are still just for the platinum member.
