kvickers Posted August 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Looking for a nice family cruise for March 2016. Booked on the Breakaway with Norwegian's beverage promo. But now second guessing my decision based on temperature in NYC during that time of year. Is the Carnival Dream a better option? My kids really want water slides. Flights to Florida are very expensive so these may be the only options. I would appreciate any feedback, especially from those who have sailed on these ships. Thanks :)

cb at sea Posted August 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2015 I wouldn't base an entire cruise on waterslides...but if that's your thing, then you'll go with Carnival! Yeah...NY will be chilly for the 1st day of your cruise!

Rare Keith1010 Posted August 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2015 My experience is that kids will enjoy whichever cruise/ship you go on. It is the parents who can be fussy. In all seriousness, I would pick the one that is easier for you to get to and from and works best for your budget and not second guess yourself on the one you already booked. Once you get a day out of NYC the weather will be fine. Keith
Backstage Traveler Posted August 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2015 We went on the Breakaway in April. Not too cold for the waterslides, especially once out of NYC, as Keith mentioned. Our kids really enjoyed the activities, not just the waterslides (although they spent lots of time on them!). There's a climbing wall, ropes course (review here) and games room. Of course, there is the kid's club too if they want that.
