elycelynne Posted August 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) This would be the one on SW 12th Ave. & SR 84. What kind of restaurants are within short walking distance from this property? Strictly fast food, or is there something a little nicer (but not super-expensive)? Normally I'd try to stay in the 17th Street area, but my pre-cruise night happens to be on Valentine's Day so prices are jacked up even higher than the typical high season prices, not to mention that I can't even save any money by booking Hyatt Place on ValueTrips because that date is blacked out. (Grrrr.) Edited August 21, 2015 by elycelynne
Daisyloo Posted August 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2015 There is a plaza across the street where there are a few options for food. McDonalds, another burger place, a Thai restaurant, a sports bar, Subway, a pizza place. We have eaten at the sports bar and the food was quite good. I have heard from others that the Thai place is good too. Across the road and down a short walk is a German restaurant that is quite good. There is also a grocery store in the plaza. We have stayed at this Hampton about 7 times and always been happy with our stay.

Finabear Posted September 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2015 We usually stay at Hamptons and they will usually shuttle you locally for free.

(Grrrr.) Anthony's Runway 84 is just down the street, east of the hotel, and is a 5-minute taxi ride. You will need a reservation for Valentine's Day. Rare Roz Posted September 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2015 I stayed there one time. Ate the Thai restaurant in the shopping center. There was a Winn Dixie grocery store and Big Daddy's liquor store. It was Halloween, and Big Daddy had a sign posted that you couldn't enter if you were wearing a mask. :D My preference is the 17th St. area, but wouldn't hesitate to stay at the HI if I couldn't find anything within my budget on 17th.
