I've probably missed this somewhere on here in my search, but are RCI still offering discounts if you book a specialty restaurants on embarkation day? I've heard differing things.

It will depend on the ship but most of the time we have been offered a 20% discount on the first day. I have heard of done ships offering a 59% discount though.

Depends on the ship, but I've seen discounts on the first night on the last 3 cruises we've been on.

1. what the experience with FR (FOS) out of PC?

 

2. is it generally announced or if not heard and interested should you ask - and who?

Our experience on Liberty was that there were tables set up in the Royal Promenade with first night offers. On Enchantment, they came around to us in Windjammer, and the pool deck.
