Hi

We are thinking of booking an inside cabin on Ventura and wondered if anyone has any tips on what is best and what to avoid.

We are looking at the Canaries in February so anticipate the sea wont be very calm.

My husband never gets seasick while I have been ill once or twice.

Thank you for all your help.

You want midships - low down to reduce the sea movement as much as possible. Ventura handles quite well - I've done a transatlantic on her to the Caribbean. you don't have to be as low as possible but definitely not too high so its up to you how close or far away you want to be from main dining room or buffet or try to get equidistant. so the middle 3rd of the ship front to rear and a high as the mid decks should be ok.

Hi thank you for your prompt reply. You have confirmed what I thought. We are wondering if it's best to book the select price or the basic price and risk being at the front of the ship or where the funnel is which will be noisy. We might wait for a while. Thanks for your help.

We have just been on Azura, identical to Ventura in an inside cabin, originally we booked D517 because it was midships but the vibrations in the cabin forced us to ask for a move. We were moved to B236 towards the front and higher up but it was excellent, no noise and very little movement despite encountering rough seas across the bay of biscay.

I think the Canaries cruise you are looking at is the one that we are booked on in February 2016? We have booked an inside cabin which is very near the front and quite high up. I m not too worried as we have sailed on her twice before (both times inside at front of ship) and have not really noticed a problem(and one of those sailings was through the Bay of Biscay) She is such a large ship so i think it will only be a problem if it gets very rough (i may regret stating that as we are due to sail through the B of B on my special birthday in Feb!!!) I m also hoping that we will ge t upgraded!! -You can only dream!!:D

If you do decide to book the cruise you are welcome to join the roll call already set up on this site

We once had an inside on Ventura, on deck 5, which I think is called P deck? It was very close to the atrium and Costa coffee, which sometimes we used for a simple breakfast of Danish pastries ...the gangway was next to Costa on most docks, so it was a very simple thing to walk off the ship from the cabin.

Because it was so low and so near the middle, we hardly felt any motion of the ship on the 18 nights trip....husband had best sleep ever, but I missed the movement as it was like being in a hotel...:D
