Transportation options between Vancouver and Seattle airport

Considering final cruise of season on Celebrity Soltice, but it disembarks in Vancouver. We would prefer to fly roundtrip Seattle. What options do we have and what would this add to our total costs?

There are various 'pricier than just flying from YVR' options like whalewatching one way to Seattle, chartering a floatplane, taking a limo etc. but the sensible options pretty much come down to four:

Scheduled buses (Greyhound, Bolt) are the cheapest (easy to get under $20 per person if you jump on Bolt tix as soon as they become available)

Amtrak coach class is next cheapest at $31pp if you book enough in advance, definitely the most relaxing and scenic, but the timing means you cannot take a flight out of SEA until the next day

Both of the above mean you also need to factor in getting from downtown Seattle to Seatac - under $3pp on LINK light rail, but $30+ in cabs.

Quickshuttle is the most expensive (unless you go Business Class on Amtrak), but the most convenient - they offer pickup at Canada Place and dropoff at Seatac for $59pp.

One way car rental is very variable in price - you can get it for well under $100 if you get lucky, and possibly bring four people so the price per person can end up lowest of all. It's also the most flexible - drive any route you like - but the most variable in timing too (border crossing could be 10mins, could be an hour, and occasionally on holiday weekends gets to really ridiculous two hour plus waits).

I'm going to vote for Quick Shuttle convenience...

  • Quick Shuttle offers 6 to 7 daily trips one way from Vancouver to Seattle 'n onwards to the airport to fit your schedule.
  • other bus/train options require additional costs/delays to get from cruise terminal to Vancouver 'n Seattle bus/train stations and another transfer to the Seattle Airport.

Check with Celebrity to see if they have transfers available to SEATAC. I usually use QuickCoach, but this spring Princess offered a VERY reasonably priced transfer that was too good to pass up. While still a bit more than QC, it was much easier not having to handle checked baggage.
