koss78b2 Posted September 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2015 Arriving a cruise by Carnival later in October. Thinking of what excursion to consider or even outside of cruiseline as well so they said the Stringray snorkel is best to do, stringray city, what trip would be most recommended? lebakke Posted September 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2015 I booked a three stop trip through Eco Tours. The biggest concern was our docking time which isn't until 10:00 AM. They were willing to accommodate that unusual time and still fit in Stingray City, Starfish Beach and one of the reefs for snorkling. We depart next week and we are really looking forward to Grand Cayman the most out of all three of our ports since we have never been there. ABQrobin Posted September 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2015 We did the CArnival "StingrayCity, Hell, and Turtle Farm" excursion. LOVED it. Here is my video of the stingray part, which you do last, after touring the island with stops at the other two places, as well as the rum factory. mrsfuzzmo Posted September 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2015 There are a LOT of Stingray City tour operators out there and a LOT of opinions on which one is the best. We've done a number of them. Something different each time. I would recommend going with a company that has a smaller boat (vs. the ship tour) and gets out there early before the masses arrive. We liked Buccaneer (Capt. Bryan's) & Stingray Sailing the best, but next time we may try the waverunners out to the sand bar. That's an option too! VPIcruiser Posted September 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2015 We enjoyed our trip with Acquarius two weeks ago. We went to Starfish Point, Stingray city, and a snorkeling site. I looked at cruise critic and trip advisor to help make the decision.

I have been to stingray city twice once on a catamaran and once using rave runners. Each experience was different and great. We relaxed on a sail on the catamaran and had a good rush using the rave runners. We snorkeled on both. I dont think i can ever do this tour enough:-)
OCruisers Posted September 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Avoid going on one of those double-deck boats. They are really crowded! We were on a sailing catamaran with the ship and so glad we were not on that double-deck boat.

Totally agree i saw that to when i was there, i was on a catamaran with about 20 people and that was just enough not to make it uncomfortable. My budget did not allow for the $400-500 private tour for only the 2 of us.
drog Posted September 22, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2015 Do Stingray City with Fat Fish Adventures on Jet Skis. It was incredible and the best excursion we have ever done anywhere.
lovetogolfgirl45 Posted September 26, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 26, 2015 We sailed with Stingray Sailing two weeks ago. It was our second trip to stingray city. We had 10 people on our catamaran and it was perfect. Very personalized and relaxing. I recommend it highly!
BillRobin1971 Posted October 15, 2015 #11 Share Posted October 15, 2015 How much did it cost to go with Stingray Sailing? We used to go with an older guy years ago, but I can't even remember his name.
Schoifmom Posted October 15, 2015 #12 Share Posted October 15, 2015 How much did it cost to go with Stingray Sailing? We used to go with an older guy years ago, but I can't even remember his name. We have booked with them for December. It's $65 for adults and $45 for 12 and under. They require a $10 per person deposit, paid via PayPal. They ask that you wait until less than 90 days prior to your excursion to pay the deposit so that it can be refunded if your ship doesn't make it or it has to be cancelled for some other reason (PayPal rules). jkd9977 Posted October 23, 2015 #13 Share Posted October 23, 2015 We have used Moby Dick tours and Captain Marvin's. Would recommend MB, not CM. CM seemed more concerned about getting pictures to sell you. MB did a much better job with the ray interaction.
