PVP gone?

Is there any way to tell if your PVP has left Carnival? I have had mine for years and when I called tonight and entered her extension, it just took me to a general "Please wait for the next available planner" queue. I tried e-mailing and it bounced. I have a feeling I may be in the market for a new PVP . . .

My PVP left Carnival after almost 10 years. But I had plenty of advance notice that he was leaving. I made a point to book our upcoming Carnival cruise through him before he left.

I know that my profile has already been assigned to another PVP because I received a voicemail last week from this new person. But at this point, I don't know if she's who I want to deal with, or if I'm going to look for someone else.

When mine left, the new PVP called me and let me know he was assigned to my account, and to call him back so he could get to know me and my cruise habits. I knew from that call alone he would be great, and he indeed is great.

It happens in any company, happened the same year for State Farm insurance, Carnival, and many vendor reps I work with. Good ones often find different higher paying jobs.

It's too bad you had your's that long and they didn't tell you in advance that they were leaving.

This is one thing I really wish that the PVP department would handle better. We had a pvp we really liked, but only booked 1 cruise every year or so. So, we went to book another cruise and she was gone. I wish they would send out an email saying "I'm leaving, here's my replacement's contact info" or something.. Unless they were asked to leave, like they got fired. But this seems to happy frequently, and I have a hard time believing that they are all getting fired!

Totally agree with this! We too had a great PVP that helped tremendously, then went to book another cruise and her # doesn't exist? I was very disappointed, no heads up or anything. We just decided to book online ourselves, it's not worth it getting to know a new one. Feel as though Carnival drops the ball on this situation in the sales department. :(

When my long time PVP left a few years ago two different PVPs called to say I was now assigned to them.

That is what surprised me that there was no notification whatsoever. The PVP we had was also really helpful, especially on our cruise to Europe 2 years ago. But it's fine I'll just take care of it myself, but someone missed out on the 3 cruises we booked this year, their loss not mine. :D

A few years ago we lost the PVP that we had for several years.

We booked B2B cruises while onboard to get the OBC. I called when we got home to have her get credit & take over the booking. The same thing happened to us as happened to you. The phone ext. never worked, but the email did go through. A few days later she called to say she'd received a promotion.

I found a new PVP through someone I'd cruised with a couple of times. However, when I called her to have her take over our bookings, she called me back to tell me she couldn't take over the bookings since she'd never booked a cruise for us.

I have a PVP, but I cannot use her since I always book onboard. If the FCCs ever return, I would book after our cruise instead of on the cruise.

Funny. I feel like this just happened to me. I tried to contact my PVP (which I just used for the first time last week), and the email bounced, and the phone extension failed. I did a google search and emailed one that someone was apparently very happy with... Hopefully it works out well. I normally am one to book online on my own, but had found out about a sale from the PVP that called, so I felt obligated to use one...

I guess we shall see what happens.

We booked the 03JUN16 Carnival Vista. Should be pretty sweet.

I cannot imagine the pvp's like this booking on board as you have to tell them about the booking for them to get credit. Seems like it is a way to screw them out of bookings.

had it happen to me too. still in therapy for it ;)

a current PVP told me that they are not allowed to tell their guests that they are leaving

So Carnival would rather their customers think they were abandoned by their PVP with no notification? I personally was a little put off with the whole situation, and decided I would just do it myself as I did prior to having a PVP. Carnival needs to rethink their logic on this one, not a good customer relations move in my opinion. Thanks for the information.

A good, detail oriented PVP would reach out and call their customer who just returned from a cruise with a welcome home call to see if they had a good time on their cruise and thank them for their business.

It's at that point the PVP would find out if their customer they booked on a ship booked another one on board.

We loved our PVP. He left a couple years ago with no notice to us as well. When I called his extension to inquire about a cruise, another gentleman answered. When I asked to speak with our "normal" PVP, he said he never heard of him. I replied this has been the same extension I have reached him at for years. His reply was, not possible, I've had this same extension forever. I felt I was in a twilight zone episode. We have stayed with this one since then, but he will never be as good as our original one.

I verified that mine was gone. I had just booked 3 business days prior. Oh well... I did a search about PVPs and found one that came highly recommended. I contacted her, and we "clicked" immediately.... I think this will work well. I am typically someone who does EVERYTHING online, but for this I have made an exception, after learning about a class of rooms that are quite nice for the $$$ from a previous PVP. :)

Anyway, worked out well so far and we shall see what happens. She also immediately got me a $80 price drop.. so, that's a start. :)

We are not allowed to give our pvp's names out on this website.

I wish I could, I have had an awesome one from Carnival since 2009.

I had to stray from her though for my 2016 cruise, hope she wont hold it against me, but doubt that she will. She is just that kind of realistic pvp, who knows what my needs are. She has not held it against me in the past, and i know that when I am ready for my next Carnival crusie, she will be ready for me, or have referred me to a colleague.

I meant to add...pvp leaves, just call 1.800 number. often you get a great rep, like I did when I called NCL

I had the best PVP and he also left, gone, poof... But, I did get a call from another PVP introducing himself to us and telling us he was now our new PVP... About 2 weeks later I call our new PVP and left him a message giving him the ship, date, cabin #s that were available on the website and told him the 16 of us wanted to book ASAP...

Well, fast forward about 3 years and at least 5 cruises later, I'm still waiting for him to call me back :( We have now found one that we all love.. He calls us if/when we have a casino promo or if we booked ES and our price has gone down... He also calls us once we get back from the cruise to see if we had a good time... This one is a keeper.... So for now, I'm lucky... I also told him that if he leaves Carnival I will track him down !!!

Guess its a hit or miss among PVPs... You get the really good ones, the in between and the hellooooooooooo are you there PVP .....

True. There are about 600 PVP's so just like in any large organization, some people are going to be better that what they do than others.
