Paying for games/slots/air hockey etc.

Slots - US bills or for a 3% fee use your room card to download money to play.

Air hockey - your room card, thought I think the teen center has a no charge table.

Arcade games, bowling, etc. - room key

My nephew ran up game room charges and I shut off the card. It wasn't much, but I didn't want to spend my vacation tracking spending and he never asked for access. He did ask to redo the cruise so I think there's plenty of fun to be had without the extra expense.

I would suggest that you keep a close watch on the room card if you have kids using the arcade. Last two years. my grandkids went wild before I caught on.

No kids (or grandkids!) here... but man did my husband and I love that the arcade had Skee-Ball!! Lol. (What a silly waste of money but so much fun!) ;)

Thank you Nola,

With regards to cash say for example if I put in 10.00 dollars would I have to use it all or does it give change?

I know I sound dumb but I've never really ever played them and am only really find out so my daughter (19 ) will want to have a little go and just want to be prepared.

Thanks again :)

It baffles me NCL doesn't offer a "teen" card or prepaid option, specially for the arcade. On cruises I usually give our oldest kid a card with, say, $25 to use during the whole trip and he could blow it all in one sitting or spread it for all days. It worked really great.

Because NCL doesn't want to save you money - lol. All of my kids have been given charging privileges on vacations since the age of 10, and they've never gone over the limit that I told them they could spend. Actually, they usually never come close to using it all, because I think they are afraid of going over (having to pay me back, plus some type of punishment).

If you put $10 into a slot machine you don't have to use it all. You simply hit the cash out button, and the machine will give you a voucher for the balance. You can use the voucher in another machine or you can go to the Cashier and they will give you cash for the voucher value.

I understand that part. But the biggest issue is our 10yo holding a card with full charging privileges (which can be lost or taken from him) and rake unauthorized charges on it. Which is the main problem pre-paid or limit options solve.

do they have a way to keep money on your card? so you don't have to get a voucher every time I know other lines you just set up an account to use for the casino? just curious thanks

You can charge slot gaming to your room account. For example download $50 from your room account at any slot machine. In a separate transaction at the machine you plan to play you can download a portion, say $5 to play in that machine. By the way the $50 download will cost you$1.50 in fees, 3%.
