Dinner vs Show times on Ruby

First time cruiser here, but sailing on Ruby Princess with my mom who has cruised several times on several different lines. She said we need a 5:30 pm dining time in order to catch the show each evening. Is there only 1 show time each night? I was hoping for a more leisurely afternoon, with plenty of primping and pre-function time before dinner. Any insights?:)

The Welcome Aboard Show is usually only presented one time.

The other shows in the main theater are presented two or three times.

No matter when you eat, you should be able to make a show that evening (with the possible exception of the Welcome Aboard Show).

Thank you everyone. This was very helpful! I'm beginning to think my mom wants to eat that early because of heartburn, not because of the shows, so I may lose the battle anyway! No matter what time we eat, the cruise will be great fun!

Princess cut back the length of the production shows a few years ago and generally present them three times each night, 7:00, 8:30, and 10:00, give or take 15-30 minutes. We used to always go to the shows after dinner, but the new 7:00 time is great for those of us with second seating.
