jelayne Posted September 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2015 The door is not cut into the interior wall. Hard to explain but there is a exterior (hall) closure that connects the 2 cabins so the the doors can be opened allowing access between the 2 cabins while closed off from the hall. A picture would be worth 1000 words- hopefully someone has a picture to share.
Wine-O Posted September 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2015 Here's a picture of the passageway look at the connecting cabins on the S-Class (all except Reflection which connects inside the staterooms). As you can see, there's a little alcove entrance into the two connecting cabins. Each cabin works independently as if they were not connecting. To connect the two cabins, there are two wooden doors (you can see the right door in the picture). These doors close flush with the passageway and lock in place. The two interior doors can be latched in the open position, and you walk between the two cabins using the enclosed alcove. Your seapass will be used to open the outer wooden door to gain entry to the two staterooms. Hope this makes sense. :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=263138&d=1362601919
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2015 This is what those exterior doors look like when closed:
CathyCruises Posted September 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2015 And, in most cases, you can also connect through the balconies
