Brilliance 10/4-10/11 - somewhat live maybe

Someone asked about entertainment. There was a band in the Centrum last night, guitar player in the pub - stephen burke. The show had a comedian (we did not go) last night. Tonight is the headliner which is a tribute to Michael Buble. The Compass indicates a Motown hour in one of the lounges and also lists a disco with dj.

Some quick observations so far:

Ship is in good shape, but some areas in the cabin are showing age. I've noticed the "creaking" more than I have on other ships. It's a shower curtain (no doors). My favorite place has quickly become cafe latitudes - nice place to sit, have tea, and get a nice outside view. I'm off to breakfast now.

We'll be getting on Brilliance 10/11. Also staying at the Seaport pre-cruise, thanks for sharing!

We are also getting on Brilliance 10/11 and staying at the Seaport. To the OP, did you use the MBTA's SL2 to get to the port? If so was it as convenient as it looks?

We used a taxi to the port. Arrived ship around 11:30.

We are at both Gilbert's Chowder House and Porthole in Portland. Mainly walked around town. Be prepared...lots of hills. Below are a few more photos from town/lunch.

The Park Cafe

 

It's located in the Solarium and has sandwiches, one type of soup, and a salad bar. The roast beef sandwich is not a constant. Sometimes it is pork and sometimes turkey. Today was roast beef. At night they have pizza and I'm sure something else, but I was only interested in pizza. Here are photos from the park cafe.

On my first day with the shower I turned the red dot handle and no water came out. For a minute i was thinking I needed to get redressed and wander down the hall in my pajamas searching for the cabin guy.. Then I realized there was another knob on the left side that controlled water flow. I would not have mentioned this embarrassing moment except I heard someone else in the ship saying they did the same thing. So if you are new to this ship class, left knob fir water.
