Daghis Posted October 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2015 I thought I knew the answer to this, and I thought that the answer is that no, the two Crown & Anchor members in the cabin could not combine their coupons for the purchase of a single internet package, but then I saw this post where lovelife, who recently sailed on Liberty of the Seas, shared this photo about internet packages toward the end of the cruise: Note the coupon discount of $80 off the $90 package (and the lesser packages being available for free). Is that discount normal for a Diamond Plus member, or did the system combine two individual Diamond Plus coupons?
cruisenfever Posted October 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) You can not combine coupons, nor does RCI combine coupons. Our experience has been that the prices of any internet package decreases from day to day. As you can see from the second photo below, the price is less than the photo you posted The next day I saw this Edited October 10, 2015 by cruisenfever
Paulxyz2004 Posted October 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2015 $80 off the package was the Discount for D+ on my last two Liberty cruises.
Pencruise Posted October 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2015 $80 off the package was the Discount for D+ on my last two Liberty cruises. $80 was also one Diamond Plus coupon discount on the Legend last month.
Clarea Posted October 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2015 It looks like the D+ discount has been raised (at least for that cruise) from $60 to $80.
Life is Good Cruising Posted October 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) Marc, we just came off Liberty 5 night cruise and I bought the internet on the second day and with my D+ discount and it did not cost me anything for the remanding 4 days. I was also surprised that they increased the Internet D+ perk from $60 to $80. Internet was not to good in the room and much better in the pool area and in the casino. See you on board :) Also want to add there were times that the Internet was totally down. Went to Guest Services one night as I could not get onto the Internet, it was around 11:00 pm and they gave me a code to enter for immediately access for 24 hours, because the system was down, the code did not work either. I wonder what the Diamond discount will be when I get an internet package next weekend. I was also surprised that they increased the Internet D+ perk from $60 to $80. I'm thinking that since our cabin is pretty much adjacent to the forward elevator lobby, the signal should be pretty good there. I like to have a daily chat with hubby who's staying at home. See you on board :) Yup! I can't wait! It'll be great to see everyone from the roll call almost exactly a week from right now. Also want to add there were times that the Internet was totally down. Hopefully that was a rare anomaly, but given Royal Caribbean's IT track record, I'll keep that in mind. I'm planning on buying the 5-day package, possibly for two devices, depending on the price with the Diamond coupon. What might make sense, again depending on the coupon, is to use one of our coupons for a 1-day pass for the first evening/night, and then use the other coupon for a 4-day pass for the remainder. PCWalton1 Posted October 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Internet related, we just left after 2 weeks on Jewel and they have greatly improved the wifi availability. I had no problems getting a strong signal from our deck 3 inside cabin the whole time. I couple of quirks I took advantage of, first I was able to have both my laptop and phone connected at the same time even though I paid for a single device plan. I never disconnected the laptop for the whole 2 weeks. Most of the time my phone would connect back up automatically when I got back on board. Also my account for the first cruise of our B2B kept working several days into our second cruse. So that saved me some money when I finally did have to renew. We were on Deck 10 Midship, cabin 1618. On Saturday we'll be in a GS, like you but on the starboard side, I think your on the port side. I should have asked if there's Wi-fi antennas in the GS, I doubt it. We're staying on for a B2B, same room too. Looking forward to our sunset cruise, I think you booked that cruise too, correct? At least this time we'll get to go to Bermuda as oppose to Canada. Remind me to tell you about CR Golf event and what they did for all of us, it was a great event!!!!! Looking forward to our sunset cruise, I think you booked that cruise too, correct? Yes, we did! It seems like it's going to be a great roll call and Club Royale gathering. At least this time we'll get to go to Bermuda as oppose to Canada. Remind me to tell you about CR Golf event and what they did for all of us, it was a great event!!!!! I've been monitoring the National Hurricane Center and it's been so nice to see it say "Tropical cyclone activity is not expected during the next 48 hours." As much as I would definitely rather go to Bermuda, I could be convinced to enjoy a brief sojourn into Canada in exchange for $1,200 in onboard credit! :D I look forward to hearing all about your golf event. The closest I typically get to golf is the mini-golf outing our family just had this afternoon.
