Since you are from Scotland, this may not apply.

On a B2B in Ft. Lauderdale we have been asked to meet other cruisers on the B2B. We were escorted off the ship to customs and after 5 minutes or so were able to reboard. If you want to stay on shore for a while you will be given a transit pass that will allow you to bypass the check in process and proceed right to the ship when you return to the port.

Being from Scotland you may have the option to go through customs on your own and reboard at your leisure using your transit pass. You do not have to check in again since you will have your ship's card for the 2nd part of the cruise.

They are going to want you off by about 9:30 at the latest. You will get a new SeaPass picture and card and then can reboard at your leisure. There is usually a special lunch with officers offered to B2B cruisers. All the details which are often specific to your cruise will be delivered to your room the day before your first cruise ends.

Enjoy!

There is some great shopping in the Ft Lauderdale area but be aware that the best areas are some distance from the port. Sales tax (which is added to cost of most goods and shown on your receipt) is 6% which is a bargain compared to most European VAT taxes.

Doing a BtB onSilhouette coming in to fort lauderdale we want to shop, can we get of at about 10 ?? And come back at 15.30 to check in for second cruise .

As long as it's not a Sunday, you should be fine. You'll want to go to Sawgrass Mills, and you'll need to hire a car.

The Galleria Mall is also an option, but it's not in the same league.
