Rare MicCanberra Posted February 25, 2016 #77 Share Posted February 25, 2016 I've avoided the cruise addiction myself. See it's all my 6 yr old sons fault. Poor kid loves it so much that being a good mum, I need to take the poor kid on a cruise regularly. The things we do for our kids hey.
Rare MicCanberra Posted February 25, 2016 #78 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Years ago after my first cruise a family member told me it is a complete waste of money and that a friend of hers would have been financially better off but they went on too many cruises. I pointed out to this family member that they have been smoking for over 40 years  'Now that's a waste of money'. Fast forward five years and this person is slowly changing her mind after a few friends have suddenly died and a close friend is struggling with a brain tumour. She said to me recently you are doing the right thing living life while you can. She is even considering a cruise. :) Another person we know who is fond of 'one-upmanship' and has travelled a fair bit always insinuates that cruisers are old fat boring people and that crusing isn't real travel. Definitely travel while you can, if you wait until you have enough time and money it may be too late.

NSWP Posted February 26, 2016 #83 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Been said to me..'How can you go on those dirty ships with all that noro virus?' Also..'You cannot see a country in one day.' Also..'Too many drunken bogans on those ships.' I am sure most of you cruiseaholics have heard that rubbish, well the last one could be partly factual ! LOL.
