mort&fran Posted October 29, 2015 #26 Share Posted October 29, 2015 We just returned from 3 weeks in Israel. Except for the security checks at the entrances to bus terminals and shopping centers, if it weren't for the news reports we would not have known of the attacks. (The TV cable packages include news networks from around the Middle East - Morocco, Jordan, Iran, Al Jazeerah - not just Israel.) The people with whom we spoke said that things are worse now than in the recent past, but far better than years ago. The streets and stores and buses were brimming with shoppers, families, and teenagers going to and from school. Kids cruised by on skateboards, crowded on buses, and walked to school without escorts. hubofhockey Posted November 16, 2015 #28 Share Posted November 16, 2015 no, go to france instead. :D In all honesty, I love Israel and I love Paris and don't believe anywhere is totally safe. Unfortunately, we are living in a different world and the equation has changed.
Gig103 Posted December 26, 2015 #29 Share Posted December 26, 2015 I was just in Israel on the MSC Musica just under a month ago. The ship moved from Ashdod to Haifa as the port, possibly for security reasons but it was never announced. We took a ship excursion to Jerusalem & Bethlehem and felt safe the entire time. There was no gossip on board afterwards of incidents.
