mpcaruth Posted October 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I keep reading reviews stating the lengthy time it takes to get a drink since there are so many with the UBP. I don't mind walking a distance to get a drink, as I would rather waste 10 minutes walking, than 10 minutes waiting in line at the bar. (Walking makes me happy, while standing in line too long with others trying to cut in makes me cranky - and cutting always happens). So, for those of you that have cruised the Getaway since the release of the UBP promo, can you tell me where the best and worst places to get a timely drink are? I am sure it also depends on what time of the day/night it is too.
adamnoone Posted October 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I got pretty quick service at O'Sheehans and Sugarcane Mojito Bar.
Rare KeithJenner Posted October 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) I very rarely have to wait for a drink. I don't spend time around the pool, which I understand from some reports can be quite slow. On 6-7-8, I've always found o'Sheehans to be reasonable, but if there is ever a wait then try one of the other bars nearby like the one by the Grammy Experience (is that Maltings, I can't remember) or the other one on the waterfront on the port side (Shakers?). Both are on deck 8, so just one level up. Sorry I can't remember the names. Edit: from the previous post, Sugarcane was one of the ones I was trying to remember, thanks. helen haywood Posted October 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2015 We got drinks quickly from the Atrium Bar. One thing that did stand out was our Muster Drill was at O'Sheehans. After it was over and the all clear to leave signal had been given, the bar there did not reopen immediately. We waited a bit and then finally went to the Atrium Bar. The O'Sheehans bar closed quicker and was slower to reopen after Muster, at least on our sailing! We wanted a drink for sail away so I planned to remember that for my next NCL cruise. The Sunset Bar has an inside bar and an outside bar on the Waterfront. The outside area is the smoking area so that bar was more crowded than its indoor counterpart. kpjb Posted October 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2015 The only bars that I remember having any sort of waits are the two at the pool and the one in Spice H2O, and that was just at peak times. I don't think you'll be waiting 10 minutes at any of the others.
Rare aubreyc1988 Posted October 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2015 The places where you might have a wait will be Spice, Pool Bar, and Casino Bar In fact, I would say the worst wait/service we ever had was at the Casino Bar, might as well hit up a bar before heading into the Casino Spice was only busy during peak times, pool bar was always crowded.
