SAN JUAN 7AM or 2 pm?

Which port schedule works best? Would appreciate past experience with pros and cons . Thanks

Are you asking about arrival time?

 

If so, I did not like our 2 pm arrival time. The ship was a bit late and then by the time we disembarked it was just after 3:30. The forts and other attractions close at 5:00. I would rather the 7 am arrival time.

I would much prefer the early arrival time. Not only is that better for visiting the forts but it gives you some time before the sun heats up the blue cobblestone streets and Old San Juan becomes very hot.

always appear earlier. Get to do/see way lots more than getting in mid afternoon.

I very much prefer the morning arrival. Too much closes too early with that late arrival. It's fine if all you want to do is drink or eat. Not as many excursions offered, either.

I have no preference, but, the late arrival does allow you to take in dinner, and possibly a show. Old San Juan looks really nice at night as well.

One other thing late gives you is the ability to see the bio-bay, assuming it's open. Sunset is near 6pm year round...

 

It really depends on what you want to see and do.

 

I'd rather do the rain forest as early as possible, too (along with the forts).

 

But dinner in the evening is more fun than as lunch.

I like sailing into San Juan .... past the fort and all.

 

7AM is too early for that for me.
