Fouremco Posted October 30, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted October 30, 2015 I'm surprised HAL would roll out a not-ready-for-prime-time partnership. Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me in the least. Many of the other changes announced yesterday won't be extended across the entire fleet for a few years to come.
Rare POA1 Posted October 30, 2015 #27 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Interesting. So this is a very recent start-up venture that was still raising seed money less than two years ago. Their site offers a limited list of destinations "curated by local experts," mostly North American west coast cities and 28 of the best known European cities. I think most people can already easily find tons of information on all these places. And unless Utrip "curates" ports in the Caribbean really fast, this partnership will be useless to thousands of HAL passengers. Then there's the Pacific, Australia, and so on. Lotsa curating needed. I'm surprised HAL would roll out a not-ready-for-prime-time partnership. I think that they they were still getting funding in December 2014. That's not a criticism. After all, HAL could be in near the ground level with the next TripAdvisor. It could be a huge benefit - or not.

Will current suppliers be required to list with uTrip and will these costs be passed onto passengers as higher excursion fares?

It was, after all, part of a not-ready-for-primetime presentation. ;) Edited October 30, 2015 by taxmantoo
