theriac Posted November 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Has anyone been to Nassau on Christmas day? How was it? I've been in Belize on Christmas and it was just a little slower than what I've normally seen when I've been. I've also been in London on Christmas and it was dead everywhere except picadilly circus at night time. So I'm just curious if everything is still going on or if there's some kind of festival or something. I've been to Nassau so many times I'm ok treating it like a sea day because there's not really any excursions I'm interested in, but if there's something fun or interesting I'd love to go check it out. OCruisers Posted November 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Good Question. We'd probably just stay on the ship.
bazbaz65 Posted November 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I'm wondering the same thing about Freeport - as we'll be there on Christmas Day. Most of the time, we like to hang by the pool when the ship is in Freeport or Nassau but thinking that won't be too warm in December.
theriac Posted November 13, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I was in Nassau a few years ago in December and it was still pretty hot. Here in Florida it's been one of the hottest Novembers on record so if the trend stays it should stay pretty warm. I've read there's a lot of stuff on boxing day(the 26th) but not a lot on Christmas day. I wish my itinerary was reverse with it being Depart, Nassau, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Sea day (christmas), and debark. As of now it's the opposite of that. Fortunately I'm ok with not getting off in Nassau as I've been a lot of times. I will probably get off to look at the NCL Escape which will be in port with us. If anyone has been to Nassau on Christmas I'm still interested in hearing if theres anything interesting or unique going on.
cruise_mojo Posted November 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2015 been there, done that! almost all the shops were closed, a very few t shirt stores and a handful of jewelry stores were open we took a cab over to atlantis and won 2K on the slots! we only bet 20 bucks in the wheel of fortune machine, cashed in and took the cab back we were only there maybe 30 minutes, most of Atlanis shops were closed as well that day! so, stay on the boat or take tour would be about it, but at least if you wanted to wander it might not be too crowded:)
xcell Posted November 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2015 on boxing day (Dec 26) there is a big parade in the streets so if you are planning to go to Atlantis - take the ferry otherwise might be stuck in traffic...

This thread is about Christmas day(Dec 25th). I appreciate your input though. Hopefully someone who will be in port on the 26th will get to enjoy the parade.
