:rolleyes:No deal there at all.... They increase the price of cabins by 300 $ and give you a 300 $ of on board credit ( all come to the same)..... That is Bull ****...... Anything to make sales better and trying to look good...... The 30% deall was better... ( Just another way to make sure we pay the gratuties ).....lol

Two of my cruises had already gone up under the 30% sale...those prices were good at first, but went up over time. That's the cruises we had booked for 2 people. We have another we booked for 3 under the 30% since my mom is going with us; that cruise has now jumped over $1,000 because now I'm only getting 1/2 off the first 2 and none off her fare, so it really doesn't save us anything.

Sure, if we rebooked our Radiance and Harmony cruises under this sale, we'd get the OBC. But prices went way up since the beginning of the 30% sale, so again, no savings for us.

No savings for me. I thought that would be the case. I did not get savings with the 30% off "deal" either.

Harmony of the Seas - April 15, 2017

With this new "deal" my 2 cabins cost $886 MORE than what I paid.

Obviously not worth the OBC of $600...

(sigh)

All 3 cruises I have booked went up, one by almost $1,000, not just because of the OBC, but the base price went up on all of them. The 30% off was much better. And the "free OBC" is a misnomer. It's not free. Basically, all you're doing is paying for the OBC credit up front instead of putting that money in your account when you're on the ship. I, for one, am not giving Royal any money before I have to.

Not necessarily, I am paying $100 more upfront but getting $200 OBC. I still come out $100 ahead

The entire cruise industry now prices their product like furniture stores have for years. Everything is on "Sale" all the time but everyone is actually paying the "regular" price all the time.

Best strategy is still #1 book as far ahead as possible, #2 book on board, #3 transfer your on board booking to a travel agent who will kick you back a % of your total fare as an OBC, #4 use an online service to monitor your cabin price and if a drop occurs contact your TA and have them reprice your cabin at the new lower price.

I edited my post. My cruises that I had booked for 2 had already gone up under the 30% over what I booked them for at the start of the sale, so rebooking under this would get me nothing since the base price already went up under the old sale. I was doing the math wrong. I'm assuming that maybe someone who booked later in the 30% sale who had a higher base price than I got might come out ahead, but I won't.

Just got off the phone with RCCL, and they were able to apply the OBC to my existing reservation. We're booked in an SL Suite on the Anthem next October.

The first person I spoke with told me the cost of the fare had increased and it would be more expensive to apply the new promotion (the fare I was seeing online was actually still the same, and all those cabins were already booked). I asked to speak with a supervisor and pleaded my case, and they said they would compromise and apply the on board credit to my current reservation.

Just received the confirmation email showing the $300 OBC.

We'll be part of the new Royal Suite Class program next Fall, so the VOOM internet was already included.

Squeaky wheel sometimes gets the oil...

With every one of their "promotions" or "sales" (whichever term you prefer), the cost of our room goes up exponentially. It is now $8,985.22 for 11330 on the Oasis that we managed to snag for $3,700 TOTAL -OMG that is INSANE. Well, actually, that is the price for ANY grand suite on the Oasis for our sailing.
