seavino Posted November 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Not being a football fan I did just realize the surprise cruise on Breeze I booked for 2 teen boys and my bf this year is leaving on Super Bowl Sunday! Oops! It also hits Fat Tuesday and we fly home on Valentine's Day! They will be happy to know they can tailgate! Lol
richfret Posted November 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Sailing on a cruise during the Super Bowl week is a mixed blessing. If you love football, you are in for a treat. If the Super Bowl does not matter to you then you are in for a surprise because every other activity on the ship is affected. Most timing for other activities for that day is either cancelled or changed. The main lounge may not be available because they may be showing the game their and at the regular picture screen to accommodate the crowds. Formal night is usually cancelled if it falls on Super Bowl day. On and on it goes. Now please, no verbal blasting. I am just telling it like it is. If you like football, you will have a great time. If you don't, bring a thick book to read in the cabin.
seavino Posted November 20, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2015 This will be on our sail away day 1. I think hey both should be happening around the same time!
scottydog123 Posted November 20, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Has anyone ever cruised during super bowl? Do they have huge parties? Just booked cruise for super bowl 2017. Go PAT'S We sailed on the Pride last year when Our Pats won, we had all but given up on them, went back to our cabin turned on the TV and lo and behold got to watch the win, unbelievable. This year we wanted to sail on the Breeze on Superbowl Sunday, but we had prior commitments, so we will be sailing on January 24th, and yes hoping that the Pats will be in the AFC championship Game televised on Sunday. A cruise is a great place to watch sporting events and if have a chance to cruise over Holloween, it's a blast.
BIG GUY Posted November 20, 2015 #11 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Has anyone ever cruised during super bowl? Do they have huge parties? Just booked cruise for super bowl 2017. Go PAT'S Superbowl on Lido is Awesome! You won't believe the amount of people showing up with their teams jerseys and gear on. Last Superbowl on Victory we couldn't get over the amount of women wearing referee uniforms. It was like an impromptu fashion show. We are going to try to do Superbowl cruise every year from now on. Next up Glory! 2017 Superbowl is Feb 5th. Already looking into booking.

rjrice1 Posted November 20, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Did put a 48 hour hold for the Magic 2/4/17// but next day 50% off deposit... so I called and booked it with half deposit. Last payment isn't due till Nov 2016...(just when I get my Christmas bonus) Love the referee uniforms idea. Superbowl on Lido is Awesome! footballbabe3 Posted November 20, 2015 #15 Share Posted November 20, 2015 You will love it!! We cruise that week this year and did it a few years prior. One year my 15 year old son and husband watched it on the ship sitting in the hot tub. Now that's how to watch a game!! LOL They had 2 parties going on the ship. If you don't like football they had plenty of seats open in the casino.
