Bourbon St. in the French Quarter, finally seeing it in person for the first time, it took my breath away. Fun, decadent and charming are how I feel about the area. Of course being from St. Louis, a French city, there was a familiarity, but NOLA is a city like no other I've been to.

We made our way over to Cafe Du Mond, it was super busy but we managed to snag a table on the first go around. The bathroom situation was a cluster fudge. There was a line, no room to stand and wait in the line without being in someone's way. The employee's also had to use the same bathrooms and had to wait in the same awkward line. It was an experience to say the least.

So I picked the Super 8 hotel on Chef Menteur Highway. It was only $67 for the night and they had free parking while on the cruise and offered shuttle service to/from the port for $8pp. I really liked it, it's not your typical cookie-cutter Super 8, it felt very NOLAish. It was super easy to get to and it was maybe a 15-minute ride to the port. There were always staff cleaning and maintaining the property which was clean and in good shape. There's not much to look at around the hotel, but for the price who cares.

We did hit some slow-moving traffic in NOLA, but it never came to a complete stop.

The front of the hotel.

Here's that NOLA feel with the inner courtyard.

The parking is underneath the hotel.

We were on the 3rd floor.

The pool area.

Wow so they allow you to leave ur car there if you are a cruiser? That's so cool!
