Getting on the Getaway tomorrow!

Hi all,

 

I am getting on the Getaway tomorrow and am super excited!!

 

If you have any questions or any last minute advice/tips feel free to ask or share! I'll try to look into everything and I will be taking tons of notes!!

Pre-book any specialty meals! Ropes course and the plank are a must do. Also the little restaurant by the rock wall and a deck below the ropes course is a great hidden treasure, think it is the Flamingo Grill?

Yes must be closed toe shoes, and recommend shorts/pants rather than bathing suit due to the harness you wear, same goes for the ropes course

Please report back the menu at O'sheenans. It's been reported that the new menu wasn't going to roll out until January then there were reports that the new menus would be rolled out "early" on the away ships. Let us know! Pot pie or not, lol!

Self debarked was a breeze!

 

Yes, book any specialty restaurants!! They were packed all week.

 

Look at Nassau excursions- we missed Stirrup Cay and were told that's normal this time of year.

 

Also hoping the sandbar is back open in Grand Cayman.

 

Illusionarium was a very pleasant surprise!!

I am worried about missing GSC dice we have a wave runner excursion booked but I am hoping for the best!

On the girl in 5 days. I've been looking forward to this since I got off her a year ago last October. I do hope she stops at GSC since Nassau was the only down side to the Eastern leg. The upside would be I will get off her for 15 mins to hit the harley store then get right back on her and drink all day!

 

 

I am pretty much useless this week at work and they are ok with it...LOL

It is not uncommon this time of year to miss GSC due to wind/weather conditions. A few years ago we did a back to back in December and missed GSC on both weeks!!

Just off Getaway and there was Prime Rib on 2 nights at O'Sheehans and 1 time in the Main Dining Room. (I personally thought it was awful, but I did not like anything i ate at O'Sheehans - the rest of the food elsewhere on the ship was above par)

 

The menu at O'Sheehans was still the old one and when I asked the Maitre'D she said not until January for the new menus.

 

I am scanning in the dailies tomorrow!

We made it to GSC and I loved it! Wave Runner tour was awesome!

 

O’Sheehan’s still has the old menu and I ate about a hundred mozzarella sticks!

 

There was prime rib night too! I noticed the sign but don’t recall the day. I have all my dailies so I can probably find it there.

 

I am going to do a full detailed daily review if anyone is interested.

I was reading a review many months back, and a pic was posted of the menu from ?Ocean Blue. They were offering a drink called Red Velvet and it's made from Raspberry lambic and champagne. If you were able to inquire if that drink is available from a general bar (or even just the raspberry lambic without the champagne), I would be most grateful! :D
