californiagirl Posted January 17, 2016 #403 Share Posted January 17, 2016 Yes, we are an hour late. We had high seas and gale force winds last night. The winds are what delayed us. The ship was really rocking and rolling last night. For a while we had a 3 degree, per the captain, list. It was funny watching people walk down the halls. pablo222 Posted January 17, 2016 #404 Share Posted January 17, 2016 And for all the people slamming Houston - Princess made it in this morning, but the Carnival Magic will be delayed 3.5 hours into Galveston. There is a post in this thread saying carribbean was an hour late.

Shoalwater Posted January 17, 2016 #408 Share Posted January 17, 2016 The cruise director on 1/3/16 was Bob Leininger. I believe he told me on the Christmas cruise that barring any last minute changes, he was making the Trans-Atlantic in April.

galsmiley Posted January 18, 2016 #413 Share Posted January 18, 2016 Was it easy to get a cab to the airport? Am thinking of it for next week, instead of Princess transfer It was easy. There was a line of them plus cabs waiting off-site.
RickSue Posted January 18, 2016 #414 Share Posted January 18, 2016 We will NEVER sail out of Houston again. Worst cruise ever, morning of sail we had an ice storm and half the entertainment didn't make it aboard. What a bust....

I've lived here 32 years and can count on one hand the number of ice storms we've had. Feb 2011 and March 2014 come to mind as the most recent. Retiring cajun Posted January 19, 2016 #423 Share Posted January 19, 2016 Can you walk all around the CB on a promenade ? If so how many times around for a mile?
MandD Posted January 19, 2016 #424 Share Posted January 19, 2016 Can you walk all around the CB on a promenade ? If so how many times around for a mile? Sorry, I don't know the distance, but you can go all around the promenade; however, it is on two decks. When you get towards the front of the ship you have to go up a flight of stairs to the Emerald deck.

I live in San Antonio while not Houston I also can count on one hand with fingers left the number of ice storms we have had in the 40 years I have lived here. SA is more likely to get an ice storm than Houston since we are inland to the west of Houston but at the same latitude. I use to work in Houston several weeks each month and don't remember any ice storms. I am not sure when the pax that posted the comment is talking about. Dallas area 275 miles to the north does get ice storms on a regular basis almost every year.
