btregoning Posted December 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) I guess the title says it all. We are cruising on our first Carnival ship (Freedom), on 12/26. When and where do we sign up for the Behind the Fun Tour? TIA Beverly Edited December 1, 2015 by btregoning Edited to correct date.

CruisinChandlers Posted December 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2015 My husband and I did the behind the fun tour on our last cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. As soon as we got on the ship we went straight to the excursion desk. I had read on cruise critic to do it first thing because it can fill up quickly. Have fun! :D

BTromboneFrack Posted December 2, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Closed toed shoes and lots of walking, so be prepared. How much walking? My wife has MS and is not a fast walker. Any places to sit down for a few minutes while on this tour? Thanks.

Only in the crew area was there a place to sit on the Paradise. Lots of walking up and down staircases that are more like ladders than stairs. bakersdozen12 Posted December 2, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 2, 2015 How much walking? My wife has MS and is not a fast walker. Any places to sit down for a few minutes while on this tour? Thanks. We did the Behind the Dream tour on the Dream and yes, there's lots of walking but also a ton of standing around listening to the presentations that the crew members would give in each area. If she has a hard time standing for long periods, it will be tough for her. The only time we sat was when we took a break mid-way through and stopped in the crew's lounge area and at the end when we had champagne, orange juice, or water (your choice), in the steak house. acjahart Posted December 2, 2015 #11 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Have you considered one of those cans that can be used as a seat? Not sure you could take it on the tour but might be worth finding out. As long as you could take it there are plenty of opportunities to use it during the presentations. Swampbaby Posted December 2, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 2, 2015 We were in a handicap room as I don't do long continuous walks. I had my scooter so as to not tire myself with the walks from one end to the other without getting to stop. Since I knew there was stopping and starting I figured I could do the tour. Hubby went to sign us up and they would not let him sign me up.
btregoning Posted December 2, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Thanks all. I guess I know where I will be heading, and with FTTF and a 10:00 a.m. check-in, hopefully we can join in. I think it would be a great gift for my DH's birthday.
