Gem balcony room couch

Does anyone know if the couch in a balcony room can sleep 2? My daughter and niece have done it before on other ncl shipsm but we have not been on the gem.

The couch in our balcony cabin did not look like it was big enough to sleep two since it was no wider than a twin sized bed (and I'm not sure that it even folded out into a bed). As I understand it if a cabin is designed for 3 or 4 passengers there will be a pullman bed and the couch.

There are some balcony cabins (B1 and B2) where the 3rd and 4th guest do share the sleeper sofa, and some have the pullman bunk for the 4th guest. Check out the link above for the category you have booked.

That wouldn't have worked with my kids, they would never share a bed no matter how much it saved me:).

The couch does fold out to be a bed but it will only sleep 2. As someone above stated it is only about as wide as a twin bed. The 4th would be a bunk. When she couch is folded out as a bed it also blocks the door to the balcony. You would have to sit on the end of the bed and swing your legs over the side to get out onto the balcony. Very tight.

There are balcony cabins on Gem that sleep 4. When you book 4, the steward lowers the 4th bed from the ceiling above the pull-out couch.

The couch would not sleep 2 unless they were both small children. It's a twin-size bed.

The following linked photo is from the Jewel - which is practically identical to the GEM, on the size of the pullout sofa in the regular/standard balcony - padding is thin & as others said, just fine for 2 small, small children.

It's wall-to-wall bedding, the 4th person will have a pullman bed that drop down from the ceiling.

Gem mini suite couch definitely good for 2 adults and was surprisingly very comfortable.... In a balcony room, fold out bed does block access to balcony. Cabin steward tried just making bed and leaving it open but we asked him to fold it up each day- no

Problem...

Here's CC link to a post 2 years ago, with photos by SDMIKE - of the GEM's minisuite, the sofa bed is wider with room to get around.

There's also a picture of the ceiling drop-down bed for a regular balcony, directly over the extended loveseat sofa. Quite a challenge with 4 inside & using the balcony at times.
