ann141 Posted December 28, 2015 #26 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Thanks for all the useful info. We will be at Platinum tier when we travel. Our very first cruise was with Princess but that was quite a few years ago and I m sure things will have changed since then. It is definately a bonus that P and O cruises count towards loyalty with Princess!:) Ann:)
skynight Posted December 28, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Believe all prior cruises on P&O are still are counted toward the Captain's Circle status on Princess. So check out your past cruises and check with Princess, you may already be Platinum status (5 cruises or 50 days) or better.
Florry Posted December 28, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Yes we are Platinum too, only one cruise off Elite - knowing my luck they'll change the rules before we get there [emoji6]

Florry Posted December 30, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted December 30, 2015 Don't tell HAMMO 11 … … … I don't think that mankinis are suitable swimwear … … … What he will be wearing is the least of my worries, this challenge is a logistical nightmare. I might just have to push him in.

HJH Posted December 30, 2015 #34 Share Posted December 30, 2015 Reservations for specialty restaurants can only be made once you are onboard. You can do so by telephone from your cabin.
Nauta14 Posted December 31, 2015 #35 Share Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) Yes they have Zumba classes almost every day as well as other exercise classes. Edited December 31, 2015 by Nauta14
Nauta14 Posted December 31, 2015 #36 Share Posted December 31, 2015 The first ever cruise I took was on Emerald Princess and I loved it. The food in the MDR was excellent, IMHO, especially the desserts. The first night the waiters were too slow, but we had them trained within a night or two!! I also enjoyed the "big production" shows, comedians, etc. Lots to do on that ship. I would sail Princess again.
ann141 Posted December 31, 2015 #37 Share Posted December 31, 2015 Thanks Nauta14 Hopefully with Zumba I can keep some of the extra calories off!! Mind you I need to lose the Christmas calories first!:)
sabbrina Posted January 18, 2016 #38 Share Posted January 18, 2016 What puts me off Princess is the high cost of alcohol and 15% surcharge and the restriction on bringing your own alcohol on board. P&O allow you to bring any drinks that you want onto the ship (within reason!).

What do you save? $13? :(
