markperth Posted January 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2016 Just curious, but Between October 12 and October 30, the star does not have any cruises listed. It arrives Barcelona on October 12, then nothing until Rome October 30. Refurb, or private charter ??? Although 18 days for a private seems long. Any inside info. We are doing 3 btb on the star, starting in Dubai November 20 and disembark Singapire January 5th. So if it's for a refurb, well that would be great. Cheers. Mark. Is there any big sporting event or something that would need the ship for accommodation?
bluesea777 Posted January 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2016 Two cruises between those dates were dropped because NCL has dropped Istanbul as the disembarkation and embarkation port. NCL is still deciding on the itineraries to replace the 2 dropped cruises.

markperth Posted January 2, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted January 2, 2016 Thanks all for quick response. Makes sense now, but a reburb would go down well😉😉
mypleasure Posted January 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2016 The Star had a refurb in April 2015. We sailed in June 2015 and it was looking good. No reason to do it again for a few years and there are other ships due to go in for a makeover before the Star will need another. Maintainence of things like engines and propulsion systems is another thing entirely but general sprucing up the passenger areas won't happen for a few more years.
