H2Otstr Posted January 22, 2016 #76 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Lois, if you don't have a neck pillow you might want to consider getting one. Even if you you do not sleep you can support your neck with it if you just close your eyes and rest. The ones that are flat or square on the top are better than the ones that are completely curved. My orthopedic doc recommended that I travel with one so that I don't hyper-extend my neck if I do fall asleep.
Rare Lois R Posted January 22, 2016 Author #77 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Thanks for the replies:) I did pick my seats already and the one thing I do remember from when I flew to Rome (that was 4 years ago:eek:) but I did have a window seat for the flight and I remember saying never again.....I normally always take an aisle seat and will be doing that this time. I just like being on the aisle. That was the first time I can recall having a window seat in years and years......I actually paid 120.00 extra to move to Premium Economy. Larger seat and a bit more room down by your feet too;) I do own a travel pillow but I am going to see if I can find another one.

MNPlease Posted February 7, 2016 #92 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks to MNPlease for your Shutterfly site. Very impressive. We are on the Tranquility II also, in September, going the opposite direction. With 3 nights in Amsterdam pre and 5 nights in Switzerland post (2 Lucern, 2 Wengen, last night Zurich airport area) Totally my pleasure! I hope it can be of some help. I am still updating things every so often. I got most of my information from previous cruise critic Basel-Amsterdam (and reverse) Avalon and Viking cruiser reviews and posts....plus a kind Avalon traveler shared there daily news letters from the ship with me. Which helped a lot. Your trip sounds incredible by the way. We had talked about maybe trying to fit in some time in Ireland before heading home....but sister in law can't miss that much work and my mother is off to an England trip with friends a day or two after we return.
