Can you walk to the beach

This is not because we are cheap...we want to get a good walk in to start our day. On vacation we like to log 20K step per day. We have been to GC several times and been to seven mile beach but we are having trouble remembering if the walk to the beach area is safe or not.

about 1.25 to 1.5 miles from the main tender landing area to the south end of 7 Mile ... and you can go further of course.

safe as long as you remember they drive on the left so be careful when crossing any street

Be advised there are not sidewalks for the entire way. You may have to walk out into the roadway a bit to get around parked cars and the like.

Be mindful we drive on the left. Assuming you are walking along the sea side of the road this means you are walking with the traffic that is approaching from behind you.

We walked back from Royal palms, as far as we could walk down the beach and then by the street. It was a REALLY LONG walk but we saw some cool stuff. There was a whole field of iguanas! That was pretty cool! When we go back I plan on being dropped off at the wreck of Gamma and work our way back towards the port stopping to snorkel in a few places along the way [emoji4]

  • 2 weeks later...

I've walked from the tender landing area to Sunset House and back many many times over the years . . . . often at nite when we'd walk from Sunset to town for dinner . . never came CLOSE to a problem.

Cayman drivers are not as crazy as most of the islands!
